Explore energy security beyond a single score.

This research platform measures national energy security across eight dimensions and presents case evidence from 2000–2026. It clearly separates the controlled concept glossary from the indicator register actually used in country scores.

A missing observation is not zero and is never invented. Complete, partial, and insufficient results are separated; only countries passing the method threshold are ranked.

Methodology

This comparison release separates the broad selection universe from the scoring denominator.

  • The index uses 24 indicator groups across eight dimensions.
  • Each of the eight dimensions carries 12.5% of the total; multiple series for the same phenomenon are resolved within one indicator group.
  • Evidence fit is labelled as direct measurement, partial construct, proxy, or research required.
  • A missing observation is not zero, is never synthesised, and is not silently removed from the denominator.
  • All 8 dimension thresholds must be met to publish an overall score. Level B has missing indicator groups and no rank; level C has no overall score. Missing observations are never invented or zero-filled.
  • Only level A countries with all 24 indicator groups receive a rank. Compare countries within the same data level and basket; level B is scored without a rank, and level C is profile only.
  • Every indicator group shows source vintage and staleness; mixed vintages are not presented as a single-year observation.
  • The index is an exploratory research product, not an official statistic, causal finding, or investment recommendation.
